Kinda cool... Nothing too special, the built-in spell checker is neat. I'll play with it later and see how well it does with OS X.

The built-in spell check is the biggest plus for me. I had an extension for spell-checking but I prefer how this built-in one works.

Get nightly tester tools. You can force compatibility for your "incompatible" extensions. It's rare that they're truly incompatible -- usually they just need version numbers updated internally.

Seems to be a little slow on OS X. Gonna have to play with it more.

I thought the OS X version was still a Release Candidate?

I thought the OS X version was still a Release Candidate? Nope, got a release version this afternoon, the candidates were updated and rolled out around 4:30pm CST from what I can tell. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Oh, when I looked earlier today, the Windows Release version was available, but OS X was still an RC. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! Couple of questions, does firefox overwrite my 1.8 install or can both versions co-exist? If my extensions don't work is there an easy way to revert back to 1.8?

As far as features go, there is nothing huge (in my mind). The interface has been updated a little and I like it. Also, it seems to run using a little less memory than 1.5-1.8 but I haven't done any definitive tests.
Lance, upgrading shouldn't be a problem. You cannot, from what I understand, run the two parallel without doing some workaround. However, when you upgrade you should not have any trouble keeping your settings and such. I just uninstalled Firefox from the control panel, then installed the new one, all of my bookmarks, etc. stayed. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |
