You know it's working if your IP is changed to a different IP.

And your IP should change pretty frequently.

I remember when this company zero knowledge did this exact same thing. That was like 6 maybe 7 years ago though. It's cool, just waaaaaaay too slow.

tor's picked up a lot of speed, especially since that scatterchat or whatever launched a few days ago. it's recieved an influx of something like a couple hundred thousand new users, maybe more.
be warned though, tor isn't invincible. a measly java applet can get your pc to disclose it's actual ip addy, not to mention sites like slashdot will see through it and ban you at your real IP. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

QUOTE (ASDF @ Jul 27 2006, 06:33 AM) how does slashdot see through tor? i don't believe it i was using tor for a while, hit up slashdot one day, turned tor off the next day, and my actual ip was banned from slashdot, even though i have an account and shitz. i emailed them asking "doubleyoutee-eff" and they said the most likely reason, as long as i wasn't being a douchebag, was that i was using tor. don't know the specifics, but one and one appear to equal ban in this case. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.
