I think this makes no sense, as it's all simply blind hate. our country is different than the rest of the world. I explained this in my last post, I suppose I can do it one more time. Religion does not have a say in politics. People who are religious are elected by those that are religious. Majority rules in our democratic country, so if it happens that the majority have certain beliefs, those will be reflected in our legislation. You act as though Bishop Jones down the street is waltzing into the state capital to present his bill on anti-gay marraige.

Think about this.

Let's say you were just elected president. There's a current issue on the table that states Mormons want to erect a statue of a cow. Your religious views or beliefs state that idol worship is wrong. The majority believes that as well. The mormons want to have equal representation. Equal rights. What gives you the right to deny them erecting their own religious symbol to celebrate their beliefs because you're told otherwise? Your decision to deny their request was not because it would create turmoil in the community. It was because it would conflict with your belief. Yes the majority always wins out...but is it right? Is it equal? That's where America fails. How can we be free and equal when the majority has total control?

I'd love to see how you drew this conclusion.

I believe homosexuality is wrong. It's not a prejudice, because I judged it myself to be wrong. When I first learned of the concept, I thought it was wrong. My logical brain tells me it's wrong, and my religion tells me it's wrong. Does it mean I'm going to automatically hate someone because they're gay? No. So no, I'm not prejudice in the least.

explain to me how you can "push" your beliefs on someone. I love this term. it makes absolutely no damn sense whatsoever. what is so absolutely terrifying to you about having someone come talk to you, and you telling them to go away? I get four f'n calls a day from people asking me to consolidate my student loans (which have now been consolidated for three years!). that's annoying as hell to me, but once I hang up the phone I continue about my business. First of all, if I was president, I wouldn't concern myself with mormans putting up a cow statue. If I was, I wouldn't vote against it, unless it was put on government property, and if it was on government property, I'd say it's not allowed because of separation of church and state (assuming the cow is supposed to represent some make believe morman religious symbol you just came up with for the sake of argument).

Second, you're not showing an understanding of what "equal rights" means. Equal rights doesn't mean you have one of each race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, culture, phsyical appearance, sexual orientation, NFL conference fan, and any other segregated belief system you can come up with representing you in government. Equal rights means every person who is a citizen of this country has an equal opportunity according to our constitution and laws.

so basically this boils down to, you can't handle conflict. do you break down and cry when the mormans come to the door? are they coming 3,4,5 times a week? night and day? when I lived over off 30th and S, they came to the door about once every few months, and we (in a nice way) told them to F' off. if you can't handle that, you got a tough world ahead of you.
