am i the only person that got super pissed when he mentioned education and brought up pell grants for k-12 students? i thought i was going to choke someone

how about we actually put money to our public school system insead of givng grants to children in struggling school districts to atend fbi schools or charter schools. no, we will just make those school districts suffer

so you just fail the education system? that is ridiculous to say. instead of taking the underfunded students out of the school system and puttng them in private schools, why don't we actualy fund the schools?

I didn't say "fail the education system". I said you're never gonna un-ghetto the ghetto. Do you think if you throw billions to some bottom barrel schools it's going to make the students want to learn? Is it going to improve their neighborhoods and give these kids some kind of incentive to better themselves and look forward to college?

It's the typical democrat plan to throw more money into the government. Tax me more and give it to a school so they can buy a few new laptops that nobody cares about. School systems have such great track records for spending don't they? I welcome any plan that puts that money back in the taxpayer's hands so they can have the opportunity to send their kids somewhere else. Hell if nothing else it will give the schools an incentive to improve the education they provide so they can keep their jobs.


So what do you do to less-ghetto the ghetto then? Give money to the local schools? Yeah that'll fix up the neighborhood, houses, get the poor lazy people jobs, etc etc.

and the answer is to put these kids into private schools with our tax dollars. right.

The answer is to abolish public schools altogether, but that's an argument for another time...

Hmmmmm.....yeah, that State of the Union crap was on.....I decided to watch Zodiac instead.
