Just a reminder to everyone, if you travel with an extra battery in your checked luggage, you will not be able to do that anymore.

Also, any extra lithium ion batteries you carry on the plane should be in a plastic bag of some sort (though I'm not sure how they're enforcing this).

i never heard this before. are you serious? so, i can't check it but i can put it in my carryon? i'm leaving tomorrow for korea so that would be a good thing to know!

It's due to safety concerns over the batteries shorting out and catching fire.

Geez this is stupid. So it's ok for it to catch fire as long as its in your carryon bags.

And it's funny to think that people used to actually light up and smoke on planes. If you brought a lighter on the plane now they'd friggin lock down the whole airport.
