Sad for the kids for sure, but I'm glad to see we're finally weening these unemployed bums off the government tit they've been sucking on for two years now.

I do agree it's bad for the children, but the parents have to take some responsibility for their household (whether or not they are deemed the head).

The problem is, there is no motivation for the parents. They've been getting by just fine with the government's help, why stop now?

It's actually an interesting correlation. Less than middle class citizens working part time jobs having more than four children. It almost seems like they have too much time on their hands or something.

Well I imagine they're connected by lower education. Less educated folks are more likely to have lower-paying jobs and have more kids. Not sure if the "more kids" thing is due to a lack of knowledge about birth control, less money to pay for it, or lacking understanding of how many kids they can afford to raise.

I'm not big on government handouts and state-run programs in general, but I would 100% support free condoms and free/cheap birth control pills for all. We'd have to get rid of the "abstinence-only education" mentality first, but I think free birth control could make a huge difference in poverty pregnancy rates, welfare/WIC/Medicaid dependence, etc.
