i wouldn't have had aproblem with it in lubbock if they'd move the f'n manhole covers UP with the road. instead of having a 2ft wide huge ass pothole everywhere there's a manhole cover.

thats the difference between adding another layer of icing to the cake vs full road replacement.

You will not see asphalt in Houston at all really. They use it as a temporary layer sometimes when doing work where they need to re-align lanes but other than it just crumbles too easily.

You can tell what parts of Houston receive good concrete and what parts received the crap... Places where less than ideal concrete was used will have these huge divots in the road and you will see people swerve to avoid them.

We do have some of the nicest freeways around though. They stay pretty stable and really stand-up to the wear and tear. As soon as I-10 is finished the only road that really needs help is the Eastex freeway and finishing of the Beltway as a full circle.

the 610 north construction was completed a couple weeks ago, 6 lanes each way, its friggin awesome
