What do you think of the Amnesty Bill that is set for cloture today and tomorrow?

i can't decide. i honestly wouldnt call it an amnesty bill, considering the vast majority of the people wouldn't be able to afford or even want to pay the $5,000 fine or whatever.

as far as the people, you will never get them all out of the country. if you don't help them stay legally, they'll just stay here illegally. if there was a way of getting them all out I'd be all for it but it's just not possible. i do think there should be a one strike and you're out kinda thing, i.e. if you're here illegally and you commit a crime, you get immediately deported.

1. Shut down businesses that hire illegals. If there are no jobs they will GO HOME.
2. Shut down banks that give accounts to illegals and shut down apartments that rent to illegals. If they have no where to live or bank they will GO HOME.
3. As soon as one commits a crime deport him.

It's so fucking simple yet no politician will stand up and do what's right for America.

It's because of this thing called Political Correctness. It's the same reason we tell a student "you can't pray or thank God when you give your Valedictorian speech" but we equip airport areas with special prayer rooms so that Muslims can pray in peace.

I dont have really a problem with a giving amnesty for a lot of illegals, there are many that do do good work, and deserve to be here. but i dont know how you can really judge who stays and who goes

low income apartments may not require social security numbers or identification so they're able to live there

every illegal ive encountered and know of through them have came to america for work. if they dont work they find a job till they work again. typically the space in between isnt long because they are needed so much
you can just shut down every american business because they hire illegals. they are needing the illegals to run the business and if they get shut down the money it adds to the economy and livelihood of the white people in that business is endangered. and white people is what you all care about
most illegals dont have bank accounts. they have white friends/spouses or legal family that hold,deposit and get money from them.
though a lot of businesses are sympathetic to their situation and pay them these work checks that you can cash at i think gas stations and places like that were you dont need a bank account.

i dont know about the apartment thing. my sister lives in low income housing and they had to get the apartment in her name because hes illegal

i support the amnesty bill if changes were made. i also dont like the "and family" part. bringing children is okay but mothers, fathers, cousins, brothers is ridiculous
and they need to get more strict about people who've commited violent crimes not being able to come in and once they do something like that in america getting deported (although deportation is a huge expense)

i agree with everything you said except this. although it does cost money to deport a criminal, it would cost far more to keep wasting our justice system's time and money on a criminal. not to mention health care or any other public systems the person uses.

Second, not having a social security number won't stop them. There is a whole underground market dealing with forged social security IDs for illegals. One could be using YOURS RIGHT NOW and you won't find out until your credit is ruined.

so what would you propose to do to determine which businesses are catering to/hiring illegals? how would you "shut them down"? What do you do for all of the legal citizens who used to work at the business you just shut down? What do you tell the legal citizens of this country when the economy starts to plummet because businesses are being shut down and workers are being deported?

this is the only type of thing that keep me from saying i'm a libertarian. i like the simplistic views, but there's never any practical solutions or policy. i would agree with you that getting tough on illegals would be good, but shutting down every business that knowingly caters to or hires illegals is simply not possible or practical.
