Did you misplace a decimal? Or does this keyboard have like...the entire computer in it, too?

Each key is an lcd that can change to give an icon for whatever program you are using.
Is cool but not $1,500 cool. I would be cheaper to get an lcd touch screen and lay it down and have a "keyboard" displayed on it. |

Oh. I see. That's kind of useless then. Looking at the keyboard slows down typing speed.

well it's been presented as kinda the ultimate gamer / graphic / CAD /etc type keyboard, because you can program all the keys to a specific icon from the application you're using.
also kinda nifty things like, all the keys change when you press the shift key or some other key. really neat idea, but yeah... i'll get one as soon as I have my 5000 sq ft house and ten cars and blah blah this page will kinda show what they mean: http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus-concept/ |

Didn't we have a thread about this a while back? Maybe before the boards went kaboom....

I would be cheaper to get an lcd touch screen and lay it down and have a "keyboard" displayed on it. correction: They're OLED displays, not LCD. Higher resolution, faster response times, complete field of vision, less power consumption, brighter colors, no need for backlighting (the OLED pretty much gives off it's own light). that said, no fucking way would i ever buy one. the mini-3 key one they sell on thinkgeek, maybe (although that should be wireless) but whatever. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.
