a lot of guys that I know care a ton about their physical appearance.... in fact, I would say that I have more self conscious guy friends than I do girl friends. I'd believe it. It's especially bad amongst gay men. Not only do you have to please guys who are more focused on physical attraction but you also end up competing with other men to have the nicest body. I don't think it's necessarily related to fat, but I do know several cases of people I knew in high school who had big rejections from the opposite sex, and eventually they turned gay (both guys and girls). none of them were fat at all (at the time anyhow). like I said lots of times on here already, it all goes back to the pussification of our kids. we shield them from rejection and loss (not keepin score at the f'n soccer game), so they never learn to deal with it anymore. You don't turn gay because you're rejected by the opposite sex. You don't really "turn" gay at all. It's generally established at a very young age. Whether or not a person chooses to accept it or still make failing attempts at the opposite sex is another thing. QUOTE oh snap have you ever been tricked into oral sex by any of them? I tricked her into oral sex one time. That dick in a box trick really works. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! It's generally established at a very young age. how the hell could it be established at a very young age? very young kids don't have those types of feelings yet. not until 10-12 yrs old anyways. imho the "I was born this way" is a huge croc o shit. there isnt some physical switch in your body that determines your feelings. there is however, a physical switch that determines your gender... generally called cocks & pussies |

that's still debatable, not proven. Trust me on this one. Sexuality isn't a personal choice. I don't think there's a reputable psychologist that would disagree with me. how the hell could it be established at a very young age? very young kids don't have those types of feelings yet. not until 10-12 yrs old anyways. imho the "I was born this way" is a huge croc o shit. there isnt some physical switch in your body that determines your feelings. there is however, a physical switch that determines your gender... generally called cocks & pussies Riiiiiiiiight. I'm sure you chose to be straight and could change to being gay at any point in time. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! I didn't say it was some cognitive choice that kids make when they turn 12. It is however a feeling, not a biological process. If there's a girl I'm in love with, it's not because I decided "hmm I wanna fall in love with that girl", but it's also not because some chemical in my brain at birth told me I was going to either. I may feel extreme anger towards someone who cuts me off on the road, while another person may not. But I sure as hell don't get angry because of some genetics, it has more to do with how you're raised than anything. If I had been whisked away to some other country and raised by different parents, I'm sure I'd have turned out completely different.
People do change their feelings though, and perhaps someone who's not in as much control over their emotions will change their more fundamental feelings. Let me ask you this, if it's some kind of irreversible (heh, people flip flop being gay all the time) trait at birth, how come certain places have such a high concentration of gays while others don't? It's obviously not because the gay people w/the gay genes are having kids now is it? I'll tell you why, it's because kids are getting raised without fathers or by people who emotionally castrate their kids before they hit puberty. Parents are teaching their kids that everything masculine is bad, which screws the pooch both ways, little boys act like little girls, and little girls avoid little boys. So... you can either attribute homosexuality to things like this, or you can go on believing there's a random gay switch in everyone's head. Do I have a problem with gay people? no. Do I think they can just up and change to be straight? no. They can't do that any more than I can change how I was raised. And before you come out with the "but so-in-so was raised 'normal' and they turned gay!", look at the amount of people who completely reject their parents nowadays. Hell just look on here, 9/10 people hate their parents and completely resent them. IMHO bad parenting/divorce is taking our society down the shitter. |

most psychologists will say its not a cognitive choice - its mostly not a choice. there are studies that show its possibly biological so yes there is support that its a biological process

Most boys will have feelings of attraction when they are really little, lose those feelings sometimes between age 6-8 until they are anywhere from 11-14, and then regain them |

I think it can be I don't know that your basic attractions can be chosen, but you can definitely choose what to pursue or not. I'm physically attracted to both men and women (as evidenced by my numerous comments about Jennifer Connelly and the like), but the vast majority of girls I've met in my life annoy the crap out of me or, at the very least, aren't geeky enough for me to be interested in them. In short, I've found many more guys than girls that are "my type" and thus, in terms of my relationship pursuits, have acted straight. -------------------- |
