That I can agree with. I have a sneaky suspicion that 7-speed auto is a bit too complex for it's own good. Hopefully I'm wrong, because if it's bulletproof enough we could see them start showing up in other cars more often.

I'm thinking of buying an S2000 or (preferably) an RX-8 soon.

i know a couple people who have the RX-8 and love them. the beauty of them as they're seen as a 4-door sedan by insurance companies. my friend has a mazda 3, and his insurance agent actually registered his at the RX-8 rate because it was cheaper.

yeah i've heard nothing but good things about the RX-8. Only real downside is they EAT oil.

(Wankels burn oil by design.)

I think ethanol is cleaner, put out as much CO2 and no sulfur containing compounds.

How much diesel are they gonna burn in order to produce all this new "clean" ethanol they're producing ... I've never seen commercial farm equipment with any smog-reducing systems on them let alone ones that run on ethanol ....

didn't we go through this a long time ago?

it still sounds just as stupid this time too.

and again: the point of ethanol isn't that it's cleaner or more efficient (although it is cleaner). the point of it is that it's renewable. you can grow a new field of corn, you can't grow a new oil reserve.

Dogmeat's concern is that they use farm diesiel (untaxed) on equipment to raise the corn

right, so he thinks that the diesel farm equipment will emit more pollutant into the air than the amount reduced by going from gasoline to ethanol. which is what he said last time... which imho is a pretty far stretch.

i think im gonna fill up with ethanol tomorrow just for the hell of it. they have it at an HEB in south Austin. Is there anything I need to know before doing it? Like is it ok to mix fuels like that? I will probably have some gasoline still in my truck.
