That Pioneer sucks jew dick in comparison SAMSUNG 4 LYFE first off, if samsung cant make a lower end tv without fucking it up, ill hardly trust their higher end shit. plus, i hear a lot of samsung horror stories. additionally, pioneer's plasma tvs are the best that are out there. when plasma's first came out, pioneers were the only ones that you could take into the mountains (or any high elevation) without the inner core bursting. Pioneers are beautiful. Yeah, i would rather have the $7k tv, but i would still buy a pioneer over any other brand any day. Although comparing a dlp with a plasma is like comparing apples and oranges. DLP: Mitsubishi LCD: LG plasma: Pioneer those are the brands I would go with. |

plasmas = suck- they're huge, heavy, hot, can burn in, overpriced
LCDs = awesome but overpriced and cant get em as big as others DLP = the shit, decent price, can get giant sizes, awesome features, no burn in ever right now the DLP title is arguably between three different brands- Sony SXRD, Samsung, & Toshiba |

when I worked there, I needed to buy a SHIT ton of cat 5 cable to wire a house. Before the discount it came out to almost $700. After the discount, it was a little over $100. Im sorry, thats fucking ridiculous. I want a new tv. Probably shouldnt get one right now though since I wont have a job for a bit come January I envy you... although I would never buy a Samsung. nonetheless, its cool there's no reason a spool of CAT5 should cost that much... something fishy there. edit: i'm told samsungs are bad for gaming, real lag problems, even for non-bemani games (ie, DDR, Guitar Hero, Beatmania) This post has been edited by zetec: Dec 6 2006, 10:37 AM -------------------- WAIT. just curious... where'd you read that? (or who told you rather) from a bemani forum i'm on. a bunch of them work for CC/BB as well, but mostly they know that shit because they're all hardcore about their scores n shit. side note though, lots of newer games have a HD/progressive scan calibration thingie now, Guitar Hero II is the only one I know of so far, but it's pretty much on the way to becoming standard. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

In fact, they are very light. I could lift a 50" plasma by myself. Huge? Umm they are flat panel... DLP's are huge. They are hot, ill give you that. burn in? dont be a retard and leave your tv on for 2 days straight....cuz thats how long it takes. overpriced? they have come down in price significantly. Plasma technology has advanced a lot in the past 2 years. Whereas the average lifespan of a plasma used to be 5 years...its now 10-12. The best LCD tv is no way as near as nice as a pioneer plasma. End of discussion. If you think differently, then you are retarded. |

End of discussion. If you think differently, then you are retarded. a 50-inch plasma weighs about 100-150lbs. that's not light. not as heavy as a CRT at that size, but heavier than an LCD. 50-inch LCDs range from about 50-85lbs. i checked on amazon, so don't say i'm also an idiot who is soarly[sic] misinformed. Also, people who watch channels like MSN or CNN or any station with a ticker (news stations) are prone to having the ticker burnt-in even with regular usage. As far as DLPs go, there's a new type of DLP that doesn't use a color wheel (eliminated the size, as well as some tracing problems). And yes, plasmas are still overpriced. Cheaper than they used to be doesn't mean that it's appropriately priced. and 10 years for a tv's lifespan is bullshit, when I buy a tv i plan on keeping it until i physically break it, or holodecks become practical. and don't call people names for having differing opinons on hot technology. if everybody had to have the same opinion, AVSforum wouldn't even exist. and shit, it's just a tv, cool down. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

The 60" pioneer weighed 112. Im sorry you pussy asses cant lift that. Additionally, most tv's these days dont last over ten years regardless of the type. And shut the fuck up, Zetec with your holy attitude. I know that I have had just about enough of your bullshit on these forums (ie closing threads because people insult each other). You act like a douche to people on here too and then act all righteous in here cuz youre a mod (*cough*when you pointed the finger at Jonathan for no reason *cough*). You dont see me closing topics in LRAR because someone talks shit to me. Go ahead, move this. I dare you. I'll make it my personal vendetta to insult the shit out of you for the whopping ten minutes that I get on here everyday. This post has been edited by Jessica: Dec 7 2006, 12:32 AM |
