QUOTE Officials at an elementary school south of Boston have banned kids from playing tag, touch football and any other unsupervised chase game during recess for fear they'll get hurt and hold the school liable. QUOTE Another Willett parent, Celeste D'Elia, said her son feels safer because of the rule. "I've witnessed enough near collisions," she said. Wow, I'm glad I never had to deal with any of this crap when I was in elementary school. "Near collisions", jesus those kids are going to be pussies when the grow up. -------------------- death to false dudes

QUOTE Recess is "a time when accidents can happen," said Willett Elementary School Principal Gaylene Heppe, who approved the ban. what the hell. at this rate recess is going to be the time you go outside and stand around staring at the sky. -------------------- |

But then they'd have to stare at the ground because of fear of the possibility of a streaker across the street from the school. And so on and so forth. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

The only thing they stopped us from doing in elementary school was playing 'joust' on the monkey bars, Because one kid got knocked out and another almost broke his arm.

I remember back in high school, we played dodgeball with these rubber balls. They could thrown quite fast and hurt you pretty bad. Parents complained that their kids were getting hurt from dodgeball, because some people got hit in the face. The next year, they had these shitty ass faux leather polyester stuffed balls. Dodgeball wasn't quite the same after that.

And I thought it was talking about TAG as in spray paint... anyways, when i was in elementary they banned this game called grasshopper where two kids would stand at opposiste side of parallel bars, jump over them, then run around to the other side and jump. This would keep going until one kid caught up with the other and tagged them. It was fun but then someone broke their arm. we could get suspended for playing. |

Yeah and people wonder why our children are becoming obese; we are cutting out any activities that involve running and fun at the same time. |
