Additionally, there was no significant difference between the groups in thinking Colbert was funny, but conservatives were more likely to report that Colbert only pretends to be joking and genuinely meant what he said while liberals were more likely to report that Colbert used satire and was not serious when offering political statements. Conservatism also significantly predicted perceptions that Colbert disliked liberalism. Finally, a post hoc analysis revealed that perceptions of Colbert's political opinions fully mediated the relationship between political ideology and individual-level opinion. John Stewart looking like a douchebag... color me suprised.
All of america seems to have rape-victim syndrome. We have a pre-emptive suprise attack declaring war against our nation, and people look for reasons of why WE are the bad guy. Why WE are war criminals. Why WE had it coming because of our actions. Its almost as if saying we are the GOOD GUYS, that we DON'T torture (which we don't and haven't), and that we are in the right is a bad thing. -------------------- |

And yet in a subsequent show, Jon Stewart apologized profusely for calling Truman a war criminal...
But, good video. I do generally like the Daily Show, but I certainly don't agree with everything that Stewart says. Of interest in this particular episode, though, at the end the guest thanked Jon for giving him the best debate he's had of all the shows he's been on. -------------------- |

Yes, it is a comedy show but they present as the news. Plus, Stewart has gone head to head with reporters multiple times about how they suck at their jobs, claiming he can do a better one.
