I like the Giants and saw them before they moved from Candlestick, which sucks as parks go.

What dates?

Don't recall which one I looked at but it was like, next week. You might have more luck though if you checked Thurs-Fri dates though.

Yeah, I'm fairly booked up till August and September and was hoping to build it into a return trip from overseas since I have the ability to fly into Newark or JFK.

So a coworker of mine had to go to New York this week, he had the same idea you do, he wanted to go see Yankee Stadium before it closed, so he figured he'd better try to go. His plane got there kinda late, so slim chance he'd get tickets. Well here, I'll just paste his email:

QUOTE
The bleacher seats were sold out ($14) so I went to the main ticket booth. I was standing in line and a guy came up to me, with his wife, asking if I only needed 1 ticket. I said yes and he told me they were right behind home plate about 10 rows up and he showed me the tickets. I told him that I was from out of town and didn't want to spend much on a ticket since I wasn't really a fan of either team. I just wanted to go to Yankee stadium before it closed.

He asked me how much I wanted to spend. I told him that the Bleacher seats were sold out so the next cheapest seats were $35-40. He said what about $50? I said yes. The face value on the ticket was $250. So I sat with this guy and his wife. I made sure he went with me through the door though to make sure it was a good ticket.

I tried to go to left field to see the statues and plaques but it is only open for pregame.

and here's a pic from the seat he got for $50:

Alright, I'm looking for Yankees tickets before they tear down the stadium. I've looked on the Yankees website, StubHub, and Craigslist but still can't find any.

Ideas?

Perhaps you are lucky if your didnt acquire tickets as they might not have been real. See my story: http://stubhubsoldmeinvalidtickets.blogspot.com/

Colorado Jim is apparently going around to any forum with the mention of StubHub, registering, and posting his blog. Commendable effort, but lame goal; makes it look like there's a huge problem when it's the same guy reporting it at many different places.
