I've only seen short trailers and poster art but the movie looks nothing like the Spirit. It would be more appropriately titled Sin City: The Spirit. Miller said it will not be nostalgic and that it will be scarier than the comic while preserving its core ideas. "My city screams. She is my lover. And I am her Spirit." Rigghhhttttt that is totally the feel of the Spirit and not Sin City. yaaay kevin! i was sort of thinking the same thing. i first saw a preview of it and just assumed it was the sin city sequel. i also saw a large black and white display in the hallways of the theater which i also assumed to be for some sin cityness, but being that i do not know much about the original work, i was not sure what to think of this version. perhaps i have some more reading to do. |

i haven't read it yet but i've been wanting to alesso, just finished watchmen comic. -really- you like manhattan? he is a manifestation of man's apathy toward existence i am more aligned with rorschach. (and albeit veidt more so than manhattan) not sure about all the casting choices. would like to see a longer trailer. i think it will be difficult to convey the complexity of this story in film. i also wonder how the movie will portray the ending. it is not easy to come to terms with; i am not certain how the average moviegoer would view its resolution. |

Rumor has it the next Batman will have Johnny Depp as The Riddler
http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/91673 Just a rumor, but an interesting one. I'm not much of a Depp fan, but if he could pull it off without turning the role he's playing into a total emogayphag like he usually does, it might work. |

They wake up the next day and they're on fire."

Rumor has it the next Batman will have Johnny Depp as The Riddler I used to like Johnny Depp... until the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Now he just seems like he has done way too much drugs. Seriously, I think his role in those movies suck ass. He played in this movie called Chocolate a while back. He was amazing in that movie... he was like a real person.

He portrayed Capt. Jack Sparrow in the likeness of Keith Richards...hence his very "druggie" appearance in that role.

He portrayed Capt. Jack Sparrow in the likeness of Keith Richards...hence his very "druggie" appearance in that role. I know it's part of the role, but I believe he added that part. They give him a lot of creative liberty with the movie. I don't like it. The rest of the pirates fit the attitude of Pirates of the Caribbean. Maybe it's just because I absolutely love Disney World and would ride the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (what the movie is based off of) all the time. His role fits how the pirates act when they are drunk and "partying" but he shouldn't act like that the whole movie.

I saw him in Sweeney Todd (after PoTC) and he was very non-druggie in that.

BTW, saw Burn After Reading last night.....it had some laughs, but I didn't think it was all that great. Kinda gory and violent toward the end.

BTW, saw Burn After Reading last night.....it had some laughs, but I didn't think it was all that great. Kinda gory and violent toward the end. I saw it yesterday afternoon. Kinda funny, not as good as I expected, definitely would recommend that people wait until DVD if they want to see it. I was pretty surprised by the gore. Didn't really expect it given the tone of the rest of the movie. is it bad enough to be called burn after watching? Nah, not that bad.
