just leave. breakdowns and disasters are part of what makes a road trip fun. ....hell yes. Ahhhhh, my 23rd b-day camping trip was so fun. Fell on a Friday the 13th and everything that could go wrong did, but it was awesome. -------------------- |

Make sure you google how to change a tire before you leave and you have a spare and a jack, just in case... since there is a lot of open land in Texas. Why would she drive through Texas when she's going from Michigan to Mississippi? -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Why would she drive through Texas when she's going from Michigan to Mississippi? DURRRR don't be a dumb ass. Obviously I didn't know she wasn't driving through Texas at the time. That was before she posted where she was going. Most people on here live in Texas still. Either way, there is still a lot of open land in the Midwest so it would still be a good idea. |

I recruited her to this site from another site. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

I'm driving down from Michigan. Anyway, we're driving to the Mammoth caves first and then to New Orleans. From there we're probably going the same way as you, Jacksonville and then Savannah. We'll spend sometime in Savannah, and if Savannah is a disappointment, we can go to Charleston. I recommend the gulf coast beaches of Florida or hitting Hilton Head just north of Savannah. I am probably going to visit my sister in a couple of weeks where my bro in law is stationed in southern Alabama, so i'll ask them about the south. Add a couple of gallons of water to the list. -------------------- Southern Rock, beer and bears!

I guess if anyone has been to new orleans in recent days, you could let me know how is it there after katrina. I was in New Orleans (french quarter) a little over a month ago and not a lot has changed since Katrina. I think the Mall right off the Mississippi has actually gotten quite an upgrade and is very nice. It seems there is less rift-raft as well. Just as many bars and strip clubs as I remember back in Dec 2004. -------------------- ![]() |
