I'm talking about NSX's and BMW's and you mention a fucking Scion? Maybe I don't see the need to spend 1/4th the cost of a decent house on a car, maybe I'm economical, maybe Jews are so rich because they don't go around spending their money, seeing just how much they can spend on any given purchase. Maybe I think spending more than 20k on a car is fucking stupid. But its your money, do what you want. But you better not drive anywhere because if you wreck your 50k car you're pretty much going to be fucked. -------------------- FUCK YOU

Although I would like the whole Volvo SUV, I also really would opt for a Saturn Vue. |

I kinda think it's unwise to spend that much on a car too, especially considering how your insurance will skyrocket. I would stick to something in the $20k range... economical yet a tad bit luxurious.... Saturn Sky, Scion tC, Pontiac's car that looks like the Sky, etc.

well if you can afford a $50k car payment, the extra in insurance isn't that big of a deal. and your premiums go up if you get in an accident no matter what kind of car you have. Ehh if you say so man, insurance aside, you have to look at what you get for how much you are paying. Once you jump up from the "economy" to "luxury" cars you start paying double for the same features, the engine in one is the same as the engine in the other, the chassis are essentially the same. It seems like a waste of money to get a base model luxury car when you could get basically the same car with a different symbol on the hood for half the price. If you're talking about buying a speed machine then I've got nothing to say to you aside from the fact that 99% of the time you won't use any of your "super speed" don't forget that it will probably need the premium gas and have only marginal fuel efficiency. If you want to commute in that then that's your deal. I'm trying to give practical advice because if I know anything, its that people buy expensive cars to show off and get laid, but you don't need to spend 45k on a car to get the clap from some cheep floozy. -------------------- FUCK YOU

Some people don't think about the, "Can I afford the premium difference" they just think "Oooooo bad ass car for $$$$".

Ehh if you say so man, insurance aside, you have to look at what you get for how much you are paying. Once you jump up from the "economy" to "luxury" cars you start paying double for the same features, So you gonna try to tell me a scion has the same features as a caddy? the engine in one is the same as the engine in the other, show me a $50k car that has the same engine as a $25k car. the chassis are essentially the same. no. again, show me a $50k car that has the same chassis as a $25k car. It seems like a waste of money to get a base model luxury car when you could get basically the same car with a different symbol on the hood for half the price. they're not basically the same in any way. yet again, lets see a $50k car that is "basically the same" as a $25k car. If you're talking about buying a speed machine then I've got nothing to say to you aside from the fact that 99% of the time you won't use any of your "super speed" how do you know how I or anyone else (will in particular) drives 99% of the time? maybe you drive like a grandma but not everyone does. maybe you don't care to have any power but someone else does. don't forget that it will probably need the premium gas and have only marginal fuel efficiency. This just goes back to the insurance. If someone is making a $50k car payment, they probably don't mind any difference in gas. If you want to commute in that then that's your deal. Bingo. And if you want to commute in a plastic box with an AM radio then that's your deal too. I'm trying to give practical advice because if I know anything, its that people buy expensive cars to show off and get laid, but you don't need to spend 45k on a car to get the clap from some cheep floozy. Well obviously your advice was way off base, given will's original post and the subsequent posts of the type of vehicle he's looking for. Maybe accept the fact that some people have/choose to spend more money to spend on their vehicle and want to get something nicer. |

Enjoy those insurance premiums, especially if you get in an accident. I'll be buying it outright and getting liability (dumb, I know, but I can't afford full coverage since I make money in spurts and nothing is really ever guaranteed -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Buying a car is a personal choice so get what you want...there, you win. You can enjoy your car, I'll enjoy the downpayment on a house. Its over impala, as much as I know that you're going to find something in the above (or even this) statement to bitch at, don't, because I don't care and it makes you look like an ass, especially after you just won the discussion. -------------------- FUCK YOU
