Portugueses speaking people are weird. I knew a girl from Brazil when I was in El Paso. She hardly spoke English, but because Portuguese and Spanish are so closely related, she could talk to all the Mexicans at our school with little difficulty.

I am not arguing one way or the other if we should speak spanish. I don't give a damn if we should speak spanish or not. Maybe we should. But that has nothing to do with ANYTHING I've been saying past my first post. The only argument I presented to not learning spanish was my first post, which wasn't even my argument. I personally feel we should learn spanish, but I couldn't answer the "is catering to one group of people fair to the other minority groups without catering to all minority groups" argument presented to me by someone much more intelligent than any of us on here, so I thought I would post it.
