so it looks like McCain will be the republican candidate unless Huckabee gets a Miracle. So does this change anything for yall in the primaries? Is anyone gonna vote in the democratic primary since they actually have something at stake now, that normally woulda voted republican? |

I'd rather vote for a sock puppet with a fake dick in it's "mouth" than vote for a democrat, but I'd also rather vote for a cute little baby penguin than a republican.

Clinton scares the shit out of me. Huckabee scares the shit out of me for a whole other set of reasons. I'm not enamored with McCain, but I think I could tolerate him.

i like mccain because he's not too conservative.
i wanted him to win the primaries in 2000. glad he got it now. i think he'd put huckabee on his VP slot to get all the southern votes. -------------------- ![]() |

McCain has one of the more conservative Senate voting records, though he does "reach across the lines" when both prudent and public. And please dear GOD not Huckabee... he won't put romney on there, they don't even like each other at all.
and at first when giuliani dropped out and endorsed him, i figured he'd be trying for the VP slot...but i don't think mccain would pick him. he's a very liberal conservative with a not-so-good moral record (as far as marriage and stuff). and for mccain, the conservatives are already having their doubts about him for not being conservative enough, so no way giuliani will get it. at this point i'd say huckabee, but it could be just some random conservative. guess we'll find out soon enough. anyway, i think this'll make the 2008 election much closer than it would've been with a more conservative republican. if huckabee or someone else got the nomination, the democrats would win big time, since everyone wants a change so bad...but now that mccain is probably going to get it and he's pretty moderate...man that changes everything. i dont even know who i'm going to vote for now. -------------------- ![]() |

I'd probably vote for Clinton over a McCain/Huckabee ballot.

I think you guys are a little overly scared of Huckabee
#1 none of the "over the top" legislation you guys think he would propose would ever be passed (or probably even proposed for that matter) #2 the VP has no real power (obviously unless the pres is dead) #3 he's just doing what pretty much every candidate does, pick a target audience and "preach" to them. at the very least, I like his consistency. #4 the gays who are worried about being lined up and shot, I seriously doubt the man is going to have some personal vendetta against them. he may not support gay marraige, but how many politicians do? Saying Huckabee = theocracy is stupid |
