What's funny to me is that a majority of people who are supporting Obama can merely say, "Hilary is a bitch" or "Obama wants change"....but they don't use anything of SUBSTANCE to backup their stance.

I've been listening to political radio shows for weeks, and I can't think of A SINGLE Obama supporter who has called in and given any information on his platform as their reason for why they plan to vote for him. Just like him, they are all fluff.

honestly, I cant remember why I dont like him. I know he has stances on several issues that I just plane dont agree with. People who are dems but dont want to see a woman in office vote for him. Im not saying im democratic and that im gonna vote for hillary. Im not saying im republican and im gonna vote mccain. When it boils down to it though, I would much rather see hillary in office than obama

edit: and if it ends up being clinton mccain in the presidential race then I wont vote because I honestly couldnt care which of them gets in office. If its McCain Obama.... yeah. Im voting.

I was just about to post something to this affect when I saw your post so I thought I'd reply. I watched this video by Lawrence Lessig and something struck me, the main points are moral courage and inspiration. Then I thought to myself, who cares about either of those things? Is moral courage (which I don't even understand) the ability to not have your intern go down on you? And inspiration? The president isn't supposed to be a painter or photographer, he/she is supposed to lead a country. If I want inspiration I'll go read Be a Better Man or something

It seems as though people want to feel good and it doesn't matter the actual issues behind the scenes. This and the fact that the democratic platform is now firmly social collectivism scare the hell out of me.

The concept of individualism is still a strong point in this country which is why people who want our government to know everything about us yet don't want social intervention confuse me (as do their exact opposites).

i think people miss that time when presidents actually had a presence

i'm actually surprised at the support that hillary still has. it has been proven time and time again that she's manipulative to the nth degree.

besides, this whole campaign thing is a farce

if hillary wins...she names obama her running mate

Obama is the whitest black man I've seen in a while.

I'll give you some reasons, based both on character and the issues.

Character
Hillary is a polarizing figure. Republicans like to actively work against her and many independents & democrats are leery of her too. Barack, on the other hand, has a history of working well with those across party lines in Congress and has broad appeal.

Under the Bush administration, we have lost face with the rest of the world. In large part, they don't like us. Hillary is too hard, too cold to help us with that. I think Barack has the charisma to get the job done. And yes, I'm aware this is just fluff.


Issues
Universal Health care. I don't like it, but if it's gonna be there, I'd rather have a plan without mandatory enrollment.

Clinton thinks that sexual/violent video games are a moral travesty and reminded me strongly of Jack Thompson back when she was commenting on GTA: San Andreas. Based on this alone, I don't think any self-respecting gamer should vote for her.

Free market. Barack has spoken in favor of the free market, Hillary has spoken against it.

Abstinence-only sex education. Clinton says the jury is still out on them, Obama believes that the federal government should stop funding such programs and should concentrate on comprehensive sex ed instead.

Warrantless wiretaps. Obama opposes them, Clinton supports them (at least in limited situations).



I'm sure there's more, but that's all that I feel like coming up with right now.

Hillary has worked with the Republicans well too on several occassions. I see you completely missing the target on this one

forget that her husband was a huge diplomatic leader for this country. lets remember that the first spouse has a lot of responsibilities too...especially in another Clinton administration. Missed the target again

Hillary is though. Hillary takes the controlling nature of democrats to the extreme. She wants to be your mommy. If you need another mommy to make you do responsible things, vote for her.
