i haven't read it yet but i've been wanting to alesso, just finished watchmen comic. -really- you like manhattan? he is a manifestation of man's apathy toward existence i am more aligned with rorschach. (and albeit veidt more so than manhattan) not sure about all the casting choices. would like to see a longer trailer. i think it will be difficult to convey the complexity of this story in film. i also wonder how the movie will portray the ending. it is not easy to come to terms with; i am not certain how the average moviegoer would view its resolution. |

I've only seen short trailers and poster art but the movie looks nothing like the Spirit. It would be more appropriately titled Sin City: The Spirit. Miller said it will not be nostalgic and that it will be scarier than the comic while preserving its core ideas. "My city screams. She is my lover. And I am her Spirit." Rigghhhttttt that is totally the feel of the Spirit and not Sin City. yaaay kevin! i was sort of thinking the same thing. i first saw a preview of it and just assumed it was the sin city sequel. i also saw a large black and white display in the hallways of the theater which i also assumed to be for some sin cityness, but being that i do not know much about the original work, i was not sure what to think of this version. perhaps i have some more reading to do. |

superhero? the punisher is far from that. it is a vigilante story written for comic books. most "super heroes" consider him to be a villain. not much different from batman, just without the money and trite love story. it is more realistic. he uses detective work, interrogation, manipulation etc. rather than flying in and magicing up some goodness. i really can't stand traditional superhero movies, especially when there is just one character with superpowers. |

i am still not sure how the new Punisher movie will be. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450314/ most of the actors are from television shows. the dark knight was pretty good, i wish they would have made the batman voice sound a little less silly. wanted was interesting, but a bit cheesy. (still waiting for twilight watch) UPCOMING MOVIES Still looking forward to soderbergh's guerilla: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374569/ they have been working on it forever. not sure what to think about this soderbergh directed flick: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1130080/ the rum diary still seems to be pushed back because of thompson's death. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376136/fullcredits#cast could be good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450405/ might be a flop, but i will still see it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1135487/ sounds good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1111422/ still on the fence about this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046997/ not a big spike lee fan, but the preview is intriguing. ?: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1129381/ there are a lot of movies popping up that have a large cast of television comedians, not sure of the outcomes: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1155056/ and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1197628/ for example. |

abilene is kind of weird. you can buy liquor anywhere, but you cannot smoke in any restaurant or bar. the bars all close at midnight, except on saturday, when they are open until one. there are a lot of churches, but only one gun range. they also have a lot of programs like noah project, etc. that seem fairly socially liberal. that being said, having lived in both abilene and lubbock for a large amount of time, i cannot really distinguish one as being more conservative than the other. i think abilene may lean towards the religious type conservatives (not REAL conservatives) and lubbock may be populated with those more concerned with small business and farmers rights etc. furthermore, i do not really consider lubbock as the bedrock of conservativism. it is a large mostly conservative city, yes, but there is a fairly diverse population. for example, in lubbock county, about 22,000 people voted in the republican primary and about 23,500 people voted in the democratic primary. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#TX i think for a real grasp of extreme conservatives, you should probably go to those counties that have very few or no democratic primary voters. and cathryn has a penis, a big one and it is half black. |

Haven't heard anything about what caused it yet. TetraGrammaton Cleric, were you in town when it happened? The plant produces mostly emulsions and solvents, outputting only ~70,000 barrels of gas/diesel a day and serving mostly NM, TX, OK, and parts of AZ and MO. nope, i think my dad does business with them. anyhow, he emailed me all those pictures. i have not had a chance to ask where he got them from. |
