And all the little cool things you can do with it, how would I do that? (i.e., there an easy, convenient way to do it?)

Enviro-whinerism is philosophical and dialectical apostasy to progress in all its forms.

Anything in particular you need? I have access.

Mainly curious about tax law. Nothing specific, just in general.

Actually, surprisingly, it's not to lose weight; I'm pretty damn thin and toned. I think my question has more to do with the substantial body of research that states that caloric restriction is a proven way to extend life. The concern I have is that finding actual numbers has been something of an anfractuous journey. I'm basically curious where the limit is at on caloric intake that "counts" as being restricted. Catch me?

So, they say that green tea and similar stuff serves to protect against free radicals and all that stuff. I drink it fairly often, and I was curious *how I know* if it is actually doing their job. I'm familiar with most of the data concerning how often you should drink it and how much and such. But how will I know if it's working well?

Apparently this is supposed to be really good for you. But uh, how much, y'know, counts?

Ok, here's what I've been trying to find for bloody ever. I'm looking for a site that covers the pandect of America; all states, all laws. The key thing that I'm looking for is a site that explains *basically* what a law or court ruling says but that ALSO either links to the specific section in the law or at least provides a precise citation so that I can go look it up myself. Anybody know of anything like this?

Very excellent. Thanks for all the info.

One final question for everyone, how do you purchase your stocks, or what systems do you use?

What is it that you are looking for? Research into stocks? Tools to manage your portfolio?

All the discount brokers have tools for limited research and reports for stocks and funds. E*TRADE, Ameritrade, Charles Schwab, Scottrade.
There's full service brokers which provide research, advice, financial management, but with commissions and larger fees. Raymond James, Oppenheimer, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs.

Personally, I use the resources available at Charles Schwab and my dad.
I use Google Finance(finance.google.com/finance) to look at prices, historical charts, etc, because I love the layout of the charts. Another interesting thing about the Google one is there's a discussion forum where people can post and talk about a certain stock. Most of the discussions are crap, but sometimes you find interesting ones.
I use Yahoo! Finance(finance.yahoo.com) to read the market news, check overseas markets, futures, and they generally have interesting articles.
I use Bloomberg(bloomberg.com) to read other financial news and check stocks for related news and press releases.
I listen to Marketplace(marketplace.org) everyday, for interesting stories and other news that I may have missed.

You know, here's a question I've often wondered, and I am serious about this. What and how does reading business news stories affect my investing?

Pretty much all of the above. But thanks because you mentioned a lot of names in your post I'll be checking out. I think what I'm specifically looking for is just something that I can use on my home computer to check stuff, buy stocks/bonds/whatever, and is user-friendly enough to not be a bitch to use. I think I might find something like that in your list, so thanks biggrin.gif

I'm partially curious what is actually available out there, be it installable programs, websites, resources, indexes, etc. What are some of your favorites that you've found particularly useful? I'd appreciate hearing what people use.

I have noticed that my max speed appears to be halved since I figured out the router. Odd.

I'd be willing to bet that's your problem. They used to (and probably still do) lock onto a single MAC address, so whatever it sees first is what gets associated with your account/IP. You can call them and have them change it or unlock it completely, but the easy work-around is just to have the router clone it.

How in Sam's Spoons do I have the router clone it? o,o

Good suggestions, I'll be trying those a bit later. And someone else installed it in my absence, but yeah, they plugged it right into the computer.

Ah, nah, I mean I've tried plugging two different routers inline and the both shut down the internet, even though my system is sending and receiving packets. Rather odd.

What are the best ways to maximize p2p security/privacy these days?

Also, I recently got Cox cable and it would appear that using the router I normally use with my connections appears to break the internet. I've read a bit about this issue, and am not certain what to do. Albeit, this is relatively little information to diagnose the problem, I find myself a bit frustrated that this would happen. Router is a Linksys router with fully updated firmware.
