The Progress poster was done first and probably the inspiration behind the other obama posters. They were done by Shepard Fairey whose style is obviously influenced by old propoganda posters. Oh noess art

QUOTE (TetraGrammaton Cleric @ Sep 4 2008, 07:44 PM) *
hey alex have you read the spirit?

it is going to be made into a movie

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0831887/

apparently will eisner also wrote sheena: queen of the jungle . . .

I've only seen short trailers and poster art but the movie looks nothing like the Spirit. It would be more appropriately titled Sin City: The Spirit. Miller said it will not be nostalgic and that it will be scarier than the comic while preserving its core ideas. "My city screams. She is my lover. And I am her Spirit." Rigghhhttttt that is totally the feel of the Spirit and not Sin City.

No one's aware of her currently being investigated in Alaska? She doesn't have a good track record against corruption.

1. I predict that trash bins at security checkpoints at Dolphin Stadium next January 8 will overflow with cheap plastic imitation cutlasses and faux prosthetic "hooks."

The profusion of buccaneer regalia will be the result of Texas Tech's stunning appearance in the BCS National Championship Game, to be played that night, in that venue. (In addition to his obsessions with Geronimo, rugby-union, chimpanzees, Daniel Boone and Donald Trump, Red Raiders head coach Mike Leach is also obsessed with pirates.)

Nick Hogan, son of Hulk Hogan, was driving/racing a Toyota Supra while drunk and crashed it into a tree. That guy was the passenger and was not wearing a seatbelt.

the nonutopian world of the past just makes it all that better to work towards for the future (and i believe there have been small bursts of it around before). is the goal to make the world a utopia? no cant really be done. but that is far from just giving up and ceasing to care. and i disagree with the question

QUOTE (Dogmeat @ Apr 23 2008, 03:40 PM) *
I really beg to differ on that ... who is he working for, an oil company or a service company just outta curiosity?

The single reason I don't think we're ever truly going to "run out" of oil is because in any given reservoir, you're lucky if you can recover %10 of what is estimated to be in place there with current technology. That number used to be lower, and for a lot of unconventional reservoirs that are being produced today, that number is less ... we didn't even have the technology 20 years ago to produce in some of the places we are now.

I really fail to see how we're going to just stop inventing new technology ... as the technology progresses, so does the amount of oil and gas you can produce.

That is pretty much the stance they had. They stated that with current technology and usage increasing as it is, that the known and projected future reserves would last 50 years. Therefore, their goal is to develop the technology to get the 80-90% that's left in the well.
