Hi everyone!

Just checking in with everyone.

So, a lot has happened in my life the past 2 years. I got married in 08 and had a baby boy. We moved to Georgia. I had a baby girl in 09. My husband deployed to Iraq when she was 2 weeks old. That was the longest 7 months of my life, but I am so lucky to have him back now. He got an Army scholarship to go back to school. If it weren't for that scholarship, he would still be in Iraq. Anyways, we are now living in El Paso with our two beautiful children, who are now 9 months and 2 years old. My family is obviously the most important thing ever to me. I am currently working as an ESL teacher at 3 homeless shelters in El Paso. I hope to begin work on Master's in Technical Communication soon. In 3.5 years, my husband will be a commissioned officer and we will move again, so I hope to have a solid education to start my career by then.

I miss all of you, and I hope the best for you. I would love to keep in touch with every one of you, even the ones with whom I didn't get along so well in the past. Gave birth to Alexandria Dawn on Dec 10th. My husband deployed 2 weeks later to Iraq for a year. Yup that means 2 babies under 18 months by myself. I still live in shitty Georgia. I head up the Family Readiness Group for my husband's unit. I'm also applying to some online grad programs so I can get a Master's in speech language pathology.

ugh... so sick of being pregnant, and I'm only 23 weeks pregnant as of today. Around 17 more weeks to go. Due date is Christmas Day.

They'll be back buying from Whole Foods in a week. I doubt they will be able to go even a few days without their pesticide free produce and purified flavored water.

Well, Cocoa Beach is about an hour and a half from Orlando. Cape Canaveral, where I assume the launch is, is about 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach if I recall correctly. In Cocoa Beach, they have the best surf shop on the East Coast... it's called Ron Jon's surf shop. Check it out. You'll like it. Lots of neat stuff. Plus, you'll look like a total beach bum if you put one of their stickers on your truck. haha. I'm not a huge fan of the public beach in Cocoa Beach. We almost were robbed there once. Vero Beach is about 45 minutes up the road from Cocoa Beach and has a lot nicer beach IMO.

The NASA launch area in Cape Canaveral offers tours of the NASA site that are really freaking awesome. One of the bus tours of the NASA facilities even has a section where you get to see bald eagles and gators.

Orlando area: Gatorland was pretty cool and a tad cheaper than going to a Disney park or Universal park. I have the best time going to Downtown Disney. There is no entrance fee as it is just a bunch of restaurants, clubs, shops, and a movie theater. Best restaurants: Fulton's Crab House if you are willing to throw down some serious cash. Captain Jacks Seafood for a cheaper alternative to a seafood meal. The Universal City Walk is also nice. Same concept as Downtown Disney. Fantasia Gardens mini golf is on Disney property as well. It's only $10 to golf, and they have REALLY fun courses. Sea World has a water park in Orlando now, but I have never been to it.

Tampa is fairly close to Cape Canaveral if I remember correctly, but I would avoid it there. Tampa is a dump, and Bush Gardens was nothing that great.

Yeah, I've actually shot a pellet gun before... I was only like 16 at the time though. I remember them being pretty small though.

I knew this guy in high school who was cleaning a gun while talking to his girlfriend on the phone. Shot his finger off mid conversation. She freaked out when she heard the noise, and all he said was "I gotta go. Call you later." She broke up with him a few weeks later then I dated him for a while. It was weird because they had reattached the finger but it was so disfigured that it was insane. He would poke me with it to annoy me. I know he wanted to get it amputated, but I don't know that he ever did.

I think CBS is a pretty liberally leaning news source.

No, I know it's stupid because every major media outlet has a slant to either the left or the right. Plus, some of those examples were pretty dumb.

I'll be honest with y'all... Out of EVERYONE I know, my brother has gotten the most shit during his life. If you can think of something embarrassing, it's most likely happened to my brother. He's 16 and has 2 years of high school left. If he has as bad of a year as he did last year, though, my mom is going to pull him out and home school him the rest of the way. He gets up every day, and carries on with life. Yeah, there are days that he actually cries about having to go to school, but he picks himself back up and goes. That's what everyone needs to do... just pick yourself up and carry on.
